Las Vegas is heating up this weekend with temperatures climbing back into triple digits, but don’t let that keep you indoors. We’ve rounded up the best free and affordable events happening around the valley that will help you stay cool while staying entertained.
Friday, June 27
Youth open mic night
The valley’s young creatives take center stage at this free showcase running from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Centennial Hills Community Center/YMCA. Whether it’s singing, poetry, comedy, or any other form of expression, families are welcome to come support these talented youth performers. Food and beverages will be provided, and no tickets are necessary.
Vegas Classic Car Festival
Don’t worry about the heat at this car show – organizers planned ahead. The inaugural Vegas Classic Car Festival runs from 12 to 9 p.m. today and continues Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel. Show cars will be parked in the air-conditioned comfort of the parking garage, while vendors and entertainment take place inside the convention center. Admission is completely free.
Saturday, June 28
Discovery Day at Wetlands Park
Enjoy the great outdoors from the comfort of indoors at Clark County Wetlands Park’s Discovery Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities will take place indoors at the Nature Center and include encounters with live desert creatures, crafts and activities, and various interactive exhibits. More than a dozen partner organizations will be on hand to offer suggested summer activities for families. Ice cream treats will be available for purchase from Happy Ending Chocolate. Event admission is free, and no advance registration is required.
Note: The Wetlands Park recently experienced a brush fire that has been contained, but the Discovery Day event is still scheduled to proceed as planned.
Mountain Fest at Lee Canyon
Lee Canyon’s Mountain Fest returns on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Escape the valley heat for this free, family-friendly mountain celebration featuring live music, vendor row, food, beer garden, downhill mountain biking, scenic chair rides and plenty of fun activities for the whole family.
The music lineup includes:

This event is free and open to all ages. Bring your favorite chairs and blankets and join us at the Rabbit Peak outdoor amphitheater – located in the main base area adjacent to our hillside dining and lodge.
Sunday, June 29
Mountainside yoga
Beat the heat with mountainside yoga returning to Lee Canyon from 10-11 a.m. at the Aspen Grove. With triple-digit temperatures in the valley, the mountains offer a cool, serene escape. Bring your own yoga mat, water, hat and sunscreen, and dress comfortably. Due to high demand, classes are now $10 per person and registration is required.
Big-ticket entertainment options
For those willing to spend a bit more, this weekend offers some major entertainment:
New Kids on the Block continue their Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. This is your chance to relive the nostalgia of your youth or create new memories with friends and loved ones as you dance and sing along to the unforgettable tunes of these talented performers.
Shakira brings her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to Allegiant Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Known for her powerful vocals and mesmerizing dance moves, Shakira is sure to put on a show that will leave you speechless.
Comedy highlights include Tiffany Haddish June 27 and Russell Peters June 28 at the Wynn’s Encore Theatre.
Pierce the Veil with Sleeping with Sirens & Beach Weather performs Sunday at PH Live at Planet Hollywood at 7 p.m.
Pool parties and nightlife
As temperatures soar, Las Vegas pools are sure to be busy. Dayclubs and pool parties like Drai’s, Wet Republic, Marquee, and Encore Beach Club are drawing crowds eager to beat the heat this summer.
Major nightclub events include Illenium at Zouk Nightclub and various DJ performances across the Strip’s premier venues.
Staying cool and safe
June’s triple-digit temperatures in Las Vegas are ideal for lounging poolside or exploring air-conditioned attractions along the Strip. If you plan to party outdoors, pack sunscreen and stay hydrated; alcohol combined with temperatures above 110°F can quickly cause dehydration.
Most of the free and low-cost events listed have been specifically designed with the heat in mind, offering indoor venues or mountain locations where temperatures run 30-40 degrees cooler than the valley floor.
Whether you’re looking for family-friendly activities, live music, or just a way to escape the heat without breaking the bank, this weekend has something for everyone in the Las Vegas Valley.
