Two titans of electronic dance music came together over Labor Day weekend as Insomniac and Tomorrowland launched their groundbreaking collaboration UNITY at Sphere Las Vegas, creating an immersive audiovisual experience that redefined live entertainment for thousands of fans.
Historic collaboration takes flight
The three-night debut from August 29-31 marked the first time the Los Angeles-based Insomniac Events and Belgium’s Tomorrowland united their creative forces. The partnership transformed Sphere’s cutting-edge venue into a portal between festival worlds, utilizing the $2.3 billion facility’s 16K resolution wraparound LED display and revolutionary Sphere Immersive Sound system.
“Through the past decades, we both have strived to create festivals and experiences around the world that foster beautiful, unique communities of individuals,” the companies said in a joint statement. “Now, for the first time in history, the two worlds become one.”
Journey through dreamworlds
Audiences embarked on a multi-hour guided adventure that seamlessly blended Tomorrowland’s celebrated themes with Insomniac’s signature festival universes. The experience transported fans through Tomorrowland’s underwater world of Planaxis, the mystical realm of Adscendo, and the icy landscape of Orbyz.
These fantastical panoramas merged with Insomniac’s beloved festival worlds, including the whimsical Beyond Wonderland—complete with hookah-smoking caterpillars blowing smoke rings amid teacup-shaped hot air balloons—and the spine-tingling Escape Halloween, featuring grimacing clowns and skeleton armies dancing to dubstep beats.
The custom soundtrack elevated the spectacle, weaving together timeless electronic anthems with orchestral arrangements from Tomorrowland’s Symphony of Unity, creating what attendees described as an unparalleled auditory experience.
Star-studded weekend lineup
Each night culminated with electrifying performances from world-renowned artists. British drum & bass duo Chase & Status launched the weekend on Friday with their signature high-energy sound. Saturday night belonged to Kaskade, who delivered a masterful set blending nostalgia-fueled classics with fresh releases, capturing both the genre’s past and present.
Techno producer Eli Brown closed out the inaugural weekend on Sunday, his driving beats sending the audience into what witnesses described as an “electrifying frenzy” that served as a powerful finale to the three-day experience.
Technology meets imagination
Sphere’s next-generation capabilities proved the perfect canvas for UNITY’s ambitious vision. The venue’s massive LED display created 360-degree visuals that enveloped audiences, while the advanced audio system delivered crystal-clear sound that made every beat resonate throughout the space.

Following the successful debut, organizers confirmed additional UNITY experiences scheduled for September 19-20, September 26-27, and October 17-18.
