Two‑alarm fire engulfs Battlefield Vegas shooting range near Circus Circus

Firefighters battle blaze at iconic indoor-outdoor gun experience
A two-alarm fire erupted Thursday around 12:20 p.m. at Battlefield Vegas, the well-known indoor and outdoor shooting range located behind Circus Circus on Sammy Davis Jr. Drive.
Fire crews rushed to the scene after multiple calls reported black smoke and activation of the sprinkler system. Clark County Fire Department Deputy Chief Brian O’Neal said firefighters launched a full offensive attack, entering the facility to extinguish flames and conducting thorough searches to ensure no one was inside. At the same time, teams ventilated the roof to release heat and smoke.
Because of intense afternoon heat, a second alarm was called to facilitate staff rotations and safety. A total of 63 personnel were deployed, including ten engine companies, three ladder trucks, three battalion chiefs, three rescue units, an EMS captain, and an air unit. Several supporting agencies—Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, Southwest Gas, NV Energy, and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police—also responded to ensure safety and control.
Fire officials advised drivers to avoid Sammy Davis Jr. Drive due to traffic delays, warning motorists that crews would remain on-site for several hours. The fire’s cause remains under investigation; no injuries have been reported.
Battlefield Vegas: more than a gun range
Battlefield Vegas, founded in 2012, is a veteran-run shooting complex featuring both an indoor 11-lane range and an expansive outdoor area with decommissioned military vehicles and historic firearms. Located just one block from the Strip, it’s known for its high-powered gun experiences, including everything from semi-automatics to tanks and Humvees.
Primarily aimed at tourists, the facility has drawn attention for its immersive military-themed offerings and hands-on history demonstrations. It also operates a military museum and educational experiences led by former service members.
Community impact and what’s next
Although the fire impacted only the building, operations at the range are suspended “due to unforeseen circumstances.” Nearby attractions, including Circus Circus and adjacent residents, have reported thick smoke and evacuation concerns, but no injuries have been confirmed.
As investigation continues and cleanup begins, Battlefield Vegas faces a challenging recovery process. Community members and patrons are encouraged to stay informed through official updates and respect the closure headlines.
