Sixth annual Battle for Vegas charity softball game brings stars together for a cause
Golden Knights and Raiders face off at Las Vegas Ballpark
The Battle for Vegas charity softball game returns for its sixth year this Saturday, July 12, at Las Vegas Ballpark, promising an exciting evening of friendly competition and community support. The annual event brings together athletes from the Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Raiders to raise money for local nonprofits.
Team captains and rosters
Golden Knights center Jack Eichel will once again captain the hockey squad, joined by teammates and alumni including Reilly Smith, Logan Thompson, James Neal, Ryan Reaves, and Deryk Engelland. On the other side of the diamond, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers will lead the football lineup, with appearances by current and former NFL players such as AJ Cole, Daniel Carlson, Aidan O’Connell, Tre Tucker, and former Raider Darren Waller.
Event schedule
- 6:00 p.m. – Gates open
- 7:00 p.m. – Home Run Derby
- 8:00 p.m. – First pitch, thrown by MLB legend Reggie Jackson
- Post-game – Fireworks show over the stadium
The game offers fans a chance to see their favorite athletes step out of their usual arena and take the field for a fun-filled night. Past events have included on-field antics, mic’d-up moments, and family-friendly entertainment.
Giving back to the community
Proceeds from the 2025 event will benefit several charitable organizations, including Make-A-Wish Nevada, Best Buddies, Assisting Lives in Las Vegas, and the Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE, all through the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
Since its launch in 2019, Battle for Vegas has raised over $1 million for Southern Nevada nonprofits. The event has become a beloved summer tradition that blends sports, entertainment, and charitable impact.

Tickets start at $35, with premium seating and suite options available. Fans can expect a high-energy atmosphere with mascot appearances, music, food vendors, and opportunities to meet players and local personalities.
