Missing Colorado teen found in Las Vegas; Man arrested in multi-state investigation

LAS VEGAS — A 14-year-old girl from Aurora, Colorado, who had been missing for more than a week, has been found safe in Las Vegas. The discovery ends an intense, multi-agency search that involved the FBI, Homeland Security, and local law enforcement in both Colorado and Nevada. A 26-year-old man, Christian Williamson, has been arrested in connection with her disappearance.
Teen disappeared from Aurora on June 14
The teenager was last seen in Aurora, Colorado, around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. Concern grew rapidly after her disappearance, prompting her family to report her missing. Aurora police issued a public alert on June 19, and the case quickly escalated.
In the days that followed, her family offered a reward to help bring her home. With limited leads and growing concern, law enforcement enlisted the help of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Break in the case leads to Las Vegas
On Wednesday, June 25, the Aurora Police Department reported a major development: 26-year-old Christian Williamson had been taken into custody in Kremmling, Colorado. While the girl was not found with him, he reportedly provided investigators with crucial information—revealing that the teenager was in Las Vegas.
Thanks to this tip, the FBI’s Las Vegas Field Office and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department quickly joined the case. Working together, they were able to safely locate the teen in the Las Vegas area later that same day.
Suspect facing serious charges
Christian Williamson is currently being held in the Grand County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Colorado. He is facing the following charges:
- Internet Luring of a Child
- Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child
Authorities say Williamson and the teen appear to have been in a relationship for several months, and additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
Local Las Vegas connection being investigated
Aurora Police have also stated that they are working closely with law enforcement in Las Vegas to determine whether any local suspects were involved in the girl’s time in Nevada. Details on her condition and how she arrived in Las Vegas have not yet been disclosed.
Officials are currently coordinating efforts to return the teen safely to her family in Colorado.
Ongoing investigation and more updates expected
“We are hoping to have more details soon,” Aurora police said in a brief public statement. Further updates are expected to be released as early as Thursday morning.
This case highlights the importance of cross-state collaboration between law enforcement agencies, as well as the growing dangers of online exploitation. The quick action from Las Vegas authorities played a crucial role in ensuring the teenager’s safety.
