Man found dead in northwest Las Vegas shooting
Police investigating Tuesday night homicide near Durango Drive
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in a residential neighborhood in the northwest valley.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 10:05 p.m. in the 5600 block of Bonita Vista Street, near North Durango Drive and West Ann Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man dead at the scene.
Investigation underway
Homicide detectives immediately took over the investigation, with the area expected to remain closed for several hours as investigators process the scene. As of early Wednesday morning, police had not released information about the victim’s identity, potential suspects, or the circumstances leading to the shooting.
The location of the incident is in a residential area of the northwest valley, approximately a mile west of the 95 freeway. The neighborhood consists primarily of single-family homes and is generally considered a quiet suburban area.
