Las Vegas youth can apply for $2,000 community service grants

The City of Las Vegas has opened applications for its Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP), offering local youth the chance to receive grants up to $2,000 for community service projects they design and lead themselves.
Program details and eligibility
The YNAPP program, now in its 26th year, aims to empower Las Vegas youth ages 8-18 to make positive changes in their neighborhoods while developing leadership and teamwork skills. Youth participants can come from neighborhood associations, social organizations, religious groups, or educational institutions within city limits.
Recipients must match the city’s grant funding through cash contributions, volunteer hours, or donated goods and services. Past successful projects have included creating care packages for essential workers, organizing community cleanups, building Little Free Libraries, developing youth art murals, and providing services for homeless residents.
Application process and important dates
Applications are being accepted from August 18 through October 30, 2025, through Zoomgrants.com. The city strongly encourages first-time applicants to attend one of two informational workshops:
- In-person workshop: Tuesday, September 16 at 4:30 p.m. at Las Vegas City Hall
- Virtual workshop: Wednesday, September 17 at 4:30 p.m.
Those unable to attend can request a recording by emailing Tara Manor at tmanor@lasvegasnevada.gov.
Selected applicants will present their project proposals to the YNAPP board in December, with each group giving a five-minute presentation. The board, appointed by the Las Vegas City Council, will make funding recommendations for final council approval in February 2026.
Making an impact
The program has a proven track record of fostering civic engagement among young residents. In the most recent funding cycle, the City Council awarded $45,000 in grants to 42 youth groups, generating over $615,000 in matching volunteer hours and donations for the community.
