Las Vegas Aces score big with ‘Steals for Meals’ community program

The Las Vegas Aces are proving that championship basketball and community service go hand-in-hand with their innovative “Steals for Meals” initiative, turning defensive plays into direct support for local families in need.
Defense translates to community impact
Through a partnership with BetMGM, every steal made by the Aces during regular season home games at Michelob ULTRA Arena results in a $50 donation to The Just One Project, a Las Vegas nonprofit addressing food insecurity in Southern Nevada.
The program has already made a significant impact this season. With 60 steals recorded at home games in August alone, BetMGM has donated $7,300 to date. These funds provide fresh groceries and essential services including housing assistance, workforce development, and youth programs to food-insecure families across the valley.
Historic partnership supports championship team
The initiative is part of BetMGM’s groundbreaking multi-year partnership with the Aces, marking the sports betting company’s first major collaboration with a women’s professional sports franchise. The deal, which runs through the 2027 season, was celebrated with a launch event at the Bellagio Fountains in May.
“As one of the best defenses in the league the past few seasons, especially in front of our home fans, and knowing that each steal will help families in need, this gives our team even more incentive to lock down our opponents on the defensive end,” said Aces President Nikki Fargas.
On-court excellence continues
The Aces’ stellar defensive performance is matched by their overall success this season. The team recently secured their 12th consecutive victory by defeating the Atlanta Dream 81-75, tying the longest winning streak in franchise history since relocating to Las Vegas. This accomplishment also clinched their spot in the 2025 WNBA Playoffs.
The team returns to action Thursday, September 4, against the Minnesota Lynx at T-Mobile Arena, followed by back-to-back games against the Chicago Sky on September 7 and 9. With playoffs beginning September 14, the Aces continue to demonstrate that being champions extends far beyond the basketball court.
