Harry Reid International Airport launches real-time TSA wait time displays

Harry Reid International Airport is rolling out new technology to help travelers better plan their journey through security checkpoints with real-time TSA wait time displays.
New display system debuts
The airport announced Wednesday that TSA security wait times will now appear on Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) throughout Terminal 1. This initiative aims to help passengers make informed decisions before reaching security checkpoints.
“This program reflects our continued investment in improving the guest experience by using innovative tools to provide useful, real-time information to travelers,” said Rosemary Vassiliadis, Clark County Director of Aviation.
Current display locations
During the pilot phase, real-time wait times can be found at these Terminal 1 locations:
- Near the A/B checkpoint information booth
- Near elevators leading to baggage claim
- At the C Annex checkpoint
- In the ticketing area
The displays show current wait times for both standard security lines and TSA PreCheck lanes alongside existing flight information.
Future expansion plans
This early rollout serves as a testing phase while the system undergoes refinement. Following successful testing, the airport plans to expand the program in phases:
- All FIDS screens in Terminal 1 and parking decks
- Terminal 3 displays
- The airport’s official website
Travel recommendations
Despite the new wait time information, airport officials continue to recommend that travelers:
- Arrive 2 hours early for domestic flights
- Arrive 3 hours early for international flights
- Consider enrolling in TSA PreCheck or CLEAR for expedited screening
The new displays complement existing mobile options like the MyTSA app, giving travelers multiple ways to check security wait times before and during their airport visit.
