Two hospitalized after violent incident at popular Vegas casino
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a violent altercation at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in the early hours of Monday morning, resulting in two people being hospitalized with stab wounds and two others sustaining injuries.
The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. when what began as a dispute between several individuals escalated into a physical confrontation at the property located at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue, near Decatur Boulevard. According to law enforcement officials, officers arrived at the scene to find multiple victims requiring medical attention.
Emergency medical services transported two individuals to a local hospital for treatment of stab wounds. Police confirmed that both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover. Two additional people received minor injuries during the altercation but did not require hospitalization.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police took one person into custody at the scene. The suspect’s identity has not been released pending formal charges, and investigators are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the violent encounter.
The Orleans, which features over 1,800 rooms and a 135,000-square-foot casino floor, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The property, owned by Boyd Gaming Corporation, remained open during the investigation, with the affected area cordoned off while detectives processed the scene.
This incident adds to ongoing concerns about safety at Las Vegas casinos, though violent crimes of this nature remain relatively rare considering the millions of visitors who pass through the city’s gaming properties each year. Casino security teams work closely with Metro Police to maintain safety standards and respond quickly to incidents.
Police are continuing their investigation and are reviewing surveillance footage from the casino’s extensive camera system. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
The Orleans Hotel & Casino has not released an official statement regarding the incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from law enforcement officials.
