Driver arrested for DUI after fiery three-vehicle crash in Central Las Vegas

Truck runs red light, flips and catches fire at Desert Inn and Jones intersection
A Las Vegas driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Wednesday night after causing a three-vehicle collision that resulted in a truck fire at Desert Inn Road and Jones Boulevard.
What happened
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the driver of a truck ran a red light at the intersection and collided with two other vehicles. The impact caused the truck to flip over and catch fire.
Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, police reported only minor injuries occurred. One person was arrested for DUI in connection with the incident.
The intersection
The crash occurred at Desert Inn Road and Jones Boulevard, a busy intersection in central Las Vegas that connects residential and commercial areas. The evening timing likely meant significant traffic was present when the collision happened.
Emergency responders had to deal with both the multi-vehicle crash and extinguishing the vehicle fire, but were able to limit injuries to minor ones despite the severity of the incident.
The arrested driver will face DUI charges and likely additional traffic violations for running the red light that caused the collision.
