Bruno Mars keeps joking about Vegas gambling debt rumors

Bruno Mars continues to have fun with persistent rumors about alleged gambling debts in Las Vegas, making another playful reference after his surprise performance with BLACKPINK’s Rosé in Los Angeles this week.
Latest joke follows surprise performance
After joining Rosé on stage at SoFi Stadium on July 13 to perform their hit collaboration “APT.,” Mars posted on Instagram Monday with the caption “Almost out of debt BehhhhhBehhhhh!!! Preciate You ROSAAAAYYYYYY!!!!”
The tongue-in-cheek comment references ongoing speculation about the Grammy winner’s financial relationship with MGM Resorts, where he maintains a lucrative residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live theater.
Background on the debt rumors
The rumors originated from a NewsNation report in March 2024, where an anonymous source claimed Mars owed $50 million in gambling debt to MGM and that the casino “basically owned him”. The source alleged that while Mars earned $90 million annually from his casino deal, most went toward debt payments, leaving him with only $1.5 million per show after taxes.
MGM Resorts International quickly denied these allegations, stating their partnership with Mars “is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect” and that “any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM”.
Mars embraces the narrative
Rather than being bothered by the rumors, Mars has repeatedly shown he enjoys the mystique. In a Las Vegas Review-Journal interview, he said he loves “the lore that I am a Las Vegas lounge singer in debt to the mob” and added “I can work with that”.
This isn’t his first time joking about the debt claims. Earlier this year, after reaching 150 million monthly Spotify listeners, he posted “Keep streaming! I’ll be out of debt in no time”.
Vegas partnership continues strong
Despite the rumors, Mars remains deeply connected to Las Vegas entertainment. His Park MGM residency continues with additional shows scheduled, and he recently opened The Pinky Ring cocktail lounge at the Bellagio, another MGM property.
The ongoing partnership between Mars and MGM demonstrates the strength of their business relationship, with the superstar drawing visitors from around the world to Las Vegas venues.
